Fruit of the Banana republic

People always debate if this or that public servant is biased or not. It’s easy to find out.

We do not judge without reason. We just have to look at the fruit; meaning the actions, decisions or comments of the person. We will know them, know where they stand…

1) When a learned high court judge insisted twice that the speakercannot choose his own lawyer to represent him. And insisted that the speaker must be represented by the state legal advisor Ahmad Kamal, knowing well that Ahmad Kamal is also acting for Zambry in another case (Nizar vs Zambry) pending. Therefore there is a conflict of interest here. (source: Malaysiakini)

2) The Serdang hospital director in rebutting the 2nd post-mortem report of Kugan said both post-mortems were “weak evidence” in the case as they were conducted after the body had been tampered with. He also said that a mob of 50 charged into the mortuary, insinuating that Kugan’s wounds could have been inflicted after death!

Meanwhile an Unmo Youth exco called for a probe to determine if the pathologist who conducted the first post-mortem on deceased police detainee Kugan Ananthan had made a false report to help certain individuals. He said that if the doctor is found guilty, action must be taken.(source:Malaysiakini)

A MCA spokesperson said it was “outraged and horrified” by the incident. Adding that it is not up to the police to act as prosecutor, judge and executioner.

The Home Minister who oversees the police, hit out at critics who he said were taking political advantage of the situation and that ‘This case has criminal implications and… has nothing to do with politics.’ (source: Malaysiakini)
