What a hopeless party!

There’s so much talk about new blood in the party, brave new ideologies, a rebirth…

Yes, I am talking about MCA, the BN component party who claims to speak up for the Chinese community!

But how, may I ask, do they plan to succeed if the no.1 and no.2 are openly trading blows? I mean fighting.

Chua says, ‘If I discover that they have not submitted my name to the PM and yet say it’s the PM or Umno who don’t accept me, then (they) are bluffing. If the MCA leadership can bluff even the deputy president, they can also bluff the Chinese community.’

And no.1 took a swipe back, ‘Don’t twist and turn. That is my advice. Whoever wants to say or make public statements, don’t twist and turn.‘ (Full report at Malaysiakini here and here).

Chua himself admitted there’s no warmth in his relationship with the no.1. He describes the relationship as, ‘he is the boss and I am one of the staff, there is no warmth,’. So Chua, are you going to be just an order-taker?

Now back to the fighting. The bible relates of kingdoms being brought down due to confusion in the camp. If you guys are so busy bickering and watching when the other will take a stab at you, your attention will be divided, there will be confusion among your members. A weakness that will cause the party to be ineffective and to fall apart. Moreover, where will you have the time to focus on the needs of the rakyat?

All this also reveals the fact that you are here for the sake of power and control? Don’t waste your time and ours. Quit acting. Continue to enjoy crumbs from the silver platter and continue to kowtow to you-know-who. We don’t care. Go ahead and fight, kill the party. Let it rot into extinction.

Heard of the saying, ‘united we stand, divided we fall’? MCA is heading for a free fall to nowhere!

(To be fair to all, let this also be a lesson to Barisan Rakyat’s component parties, PKR, DAP and PAS. Don’t think that you are invincible, that power and control will not divide your party into camps. When that happens, it will be too late. People will lose their trust in you. You will be hopeless to the rakyat. So please BR leaders, do not allow internal divisions to destroy the party.)

It’s the PEOPLE’s money, so says de facto law minister!

Good people of Malaysia, the government has finally acknowledged that the billions of ringgit wasted on failed projects, spent to bail out cronies, for dubious purchases like submarines, for the ‘teh tarik’ experiment on the moon, loan to Valuecap… are money that belongs to the people! Aren’t we suckers to have our money spent on these while most of us are living from hand to mouth.

Meanwhile, Nazri brushed aside former de facto law minister Zaid Ibrahim’s contention that the government had broken its earlier promise not to reveal the amount paid.

The minister said the amount had to be revealed because it was requested in parliament.

“Besides, the money belongs to the people and we cannot make a side agreement (that it should not be revealed).

“Although we do not have to reveal it but the moment Parliament asked for it, then we must do so,” he said, adding that unless the matter involves national security, then whatever that is asked for by Parliament must be disclosed, especially if it involves public funds.

All right, I admit I got overly excited and he is referring to the sacked judges compensation. But then, isn’t the money used for those other things public funds too?

Do we now have the right to ask the government to reveal the whys and hows of public expenditure? Silly me, of course, we had always have this right! Only that our right to know is subject to the whims and fancies and only when it is beneficial to their agenda. The speaker of parliament will ‘reject’ as usual and there goes our right to ask!

Let’s see if the de factor law minister will have to eat his own words the next time there is a request for explanation on another dubious expenditure. Or will he hide behind the ‘national secret’ or ‘threat to national security’ excuse.

Sleep on this people. We are millionaires and billionaires per say. However we can only watch the money enrich others but not ourselves. Remember into their banks and not ours. Isn’t it time we wise up?
